Women and Queer Night is April 3!

Wednesday, March 27th, 2013

Wednesday, April 3 from 6pm – 9pm is Women and Queer Night at the Bike Kitchen!

Spring has finally arrived! Come tune up your bike with us so you can enjoy the warmer weather and sunny days on your sweet ride!

Women and LGBTQ people have traditionally not been as welcome in a shop setting and may be deterred from learning how to do maintenance on their own bike due to past experience or societal precedents. The aim of Women and Queer Night is to break down these barriers, and provide a safe space for anyone who identifies as female and/or LGBTQ to ask questions, receive instruction and become oriented to the shop. Women and Queer Night happens on the first Wednesday of every month, and welcomes all mechanical skill levels!

When?: Wednesday, April 3rd. Drop in anytime between 6:00 and 9:00.

What?: Open shop time, with a tool demo at 7:00 pm

Bring: Your bicycle! We will have knowledgeable volunteers available to help you learn how to get your ride in tip-top shape!

Cost: $5-10 sliding scale, but no one is turned away for lack of funds.

Hope to see you there!
